We moved to Whitewater in 2000 to open an inn and escape the corporate life in the suburbs of Chicago. We enjoy the quiet slower paced life of small town living, where we feel connected to our community. We want to share a little piece of that experience while you are visiting our town.
As long as I can remember, I have wanted to operate an inn. It is nice to be in a place in life where our life dreams have come true. My two passions in life are my children and hospitality. Running the inn has given me the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and a business woman at the same time; the best of both worlds. Now that my children are in college, I have more spare time to read a good book or enjoy a leisurely walk through the area's nature trails. I often can be found in the kitchen trying out a new recipe. In the future I hope to run a country store at the family farm or open a tea shop at the inn.
My husband Jim now works outside of the inn but enjoys helping out around the inn as much as possible. Ask him about the history of the House. He enjoys sharing the fascinating chapters of the house's past. In his spare time, Jim enjoys developing his family's sustainable, organic farmette just south of town.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Fleming
