5 Unique Wisconsin Supper Clubs
For a truly authentic Wisconsin dining experience, pay a visit to one of our state’s many historic supper clubs. Traditionally, these beloved Wisconsin institutions are family-run establishments specializing in hearty all-American cuisine and stiff cocktails. Typical staples of the menu include a baked potato, juicy prime rib, and brandy old-fashioned, with either a relish tray or a salad bar as a starter. Best of all, you’ll always be greeted with a warm smile and friendly service. Though they may be similar in terms of the food they serve, each supper club is as unique as the family who runs them. Add one of these supper clubs to your Whitewater itinerary for a dining adventure you can’t find anywhere else.
Duck Inn Supper Club
The Duck Inn Supper Club in Delevan, Wisconsin is a warm and welcoming establishment serving up some of the best duck you will ever taste. The Duck Inn Supper Club gets its name not only from its delicious duck dishes but also the taxidermied ducks that cover its walls. With its old world charm, friendly staff, and casual elegance, the Duck Inn Supper Club is a local favorite. You’ll fall in love with their tasty homemade desserts and strong cocktails, especially their Manhattans and Old Fashioneds.
Buckhorn Supper Club
Come to the Buckhorn Supper Club for a delicious meal overlooking beautiful Lake Koshkonong. Their menu features classic club fair, but their main draw is their beloved summer lobster boil. On weekends, you’ll enjoy a variety of nightly features like New York Strip Steak with mushrooms, prime rib, and roasted duck with cherry sauce.
Edgewater Supper Club
Edgewater Supper Club is a farm-to-table restaurant that uses only the freshest local ingredients. Despite their organic pedigree, they still serve up supper club classics like prime rib, chop sirloin, and smoked brisket as well as seafood, pastas, greens, and mouthwatering homemade desserts. Expert bartenders are on site ready to make high quality drinks from their extensive list of historic recipes. The Edgewater Supper Club is located between Jefferson and Fort Atkinson Wisconsin along the beautiful Rock River. Fun fact: In the 1920s, the Edgewater was used as a gambling locale for the Candian mob.
841 Brewhouse might not be a traditional supper club, but with its welcoming staff and spacious, banquet-style seating, we thought it should still make the list. This casual, no-frills spot serves up a mean supper club-inspired prime rib along with fresh salads and wraps, delicious meat and seafood entrees, a variety of signature sandwiches, and some of the tastiest cheese curds in town.
Come to the Stagecoach Inn in Fort Atkinson for big portions, homemade Old Fashioneds, and a lively, cozy ambiance that keeps locals and tourists alike coming back for more. Their menu is jam-packed with mouthwatering steak and seafood dishes as well as more unique comfort foods like “cheeseburger soup” and an impressive four-tier “salad tower.” Stagecoach has been recently remodeled to make it even more welcoming and distinct.
