Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and cash are accepted. If paying with cash, a deposit must be made with a valid credit card. Balance can be made by credit card or cash at check in. The Hamilton House participates with several online third-party booking sites. In the event any

third-party site makes an error in the standard room rate, room availability, inn occupancy or Wisconsin State Sales Tax, or the City of Whitewater Room Tax charge, and/or any other reservation details, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation within 24 hours of booking.

*Direct Book reservations are charged full reservation fees 3-days prior to arrival, the Direct Book cancellation period.

**OTA reservations will be charged the full amount upon booking, with a 9 day cancellation period. To confirm you reservation an advance payment of one nights room and tax is required and charged to your credit card at the time of booking.

A deposit for the first night’s stay is collected at the time of purchase. Payment for retail items and gift certificates is collected at the time of purchase.

Arrival and Departure:

Our preferred guest arrival time is between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Please enter an estimated time of arrival at the time of booking your reservations. Options are available for arrivals outside of the standard check-in time, subject to availability.

Guest departure is 11:00 AM. If you choose to stay past 11:15 your credit card will be charged an additional $25.00 per hour past 11:15 unless arrangements have been made in advance for a late checkout. Options for extended and early arrival are available subject to prior arrangements and

availability. Please remember to leave your room key with us prior to departing. A rekey lock fee will be charged to your credit card if you do not leave the key.

*Early arrival and extended departure are possible for an added fee.

Two-night minimum:

Weekends in October, as well as major holidays and local events, have a two-night minimum charge and a 9-day advance cancellation policy. This policy is for all rooms.

*Single nights may be reserved if rooms are still available 24 hours prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy:

The Hamilton House is a small excusive property; therefore, we are significantly affected by cancellations and must adhere to a strict cancellation policy. Deposits on cancellations 9 days prior to arrival date will be given a full refund. Cancellations within days will be charged a 

$ 25.00 cancellation fee. 

No refunds or discounts will begiven for early departure. Guests who do not arrive, will be charged the full amount of their booked reservation.

Advance notice of any dietary restrictions or allergies must be stated

At the time of booking.

Full-service breakfast is served in the dining room from 7:00-9:30. Please inform innkeeper at check-in what time you would like to have breakfast. Due to Covid protocol we adhere to our guest’s individual tables and time slots.

If guests are with the same group, we will accommodate seating for the group.

In room breakfast can be served with advance notice at check-in only. We cannot accommodate the same-day notice for in-room breakfast. 

In room breakfast is chef’s choice or continental breakfast as agreed at check in. In room breakfast is served from 7:00-9:30 AM.


Once you are checked in, you will be provided a key allowing you to come and go at your leisure. You will be offered the innkeeper’s cell phone number for direct access to assistance as needed.


All baths are private, in-room baths with shower and/or tub.


House phone available at all times.


Rooms do not have TV/VCR/DVD. Rooms have a CD player, select rooms have an MP3 docking station.


No Smoking inside. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available. There will be a $250.00 charge for cleaning the room, if this policy is violated.


Hamilton House is a pet-free facility. Local boarding is available.


Due to the historical nature of the Hamilton House, it is not suited for children under 12. Children 12 and older are welcome to stay.

Guest Rooms and Common Areas:

Insurance and licensing require that guestrooms are for the enjoyment of registered guests. Nonregistered guests are not permitted in the guestrooms. Out of courtesy of other guests, we ask that common areas be used for quiet gatherings with other guests staying at the inn. Should you be meeting up with area friends and family, we ask that all unregistered guests departed by 9 pm.


The Hamilton House was built in the 1860’s and maintains many of its original historic architectural features. We are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Main Street Historic District . There are three sets of stairs from the parking lot to the guest entrance. Five of the six guest rooms are located on the second floor. We are happy to discuss the full features of the house and its architectural challenges in advance of your visit.
